How to Retrofit Your Emergency Lighting with Elumen

You can often use your existing emergency exit lighting brackets to retrofit your building when switching to Elumen. Follow this step-by-step guide to make the transition easy.

Finding Your Equivalent Elumen Product

Contact us with the model code of your existing lighting products, and we’ll provide a quote for a suitable Elumen alternative. If your building requires new emergency lighting, you can avoid wiring these lights to the test switch with our Self-Test range.

Get a licensed electrician to identify which existing brackets you have in your building. Type A brackets have the terminal block towards the centre of the fitting, while type B brackets have the terminal block towards the edge of the fitting as shown below.

If your building has type A brackets, Elumen's Manly exit sign will slide on straight out of the box. If your building has type B brackets there is no need for your electrician to replace the whole bracket, an adapter can be used as shown in the video below.

New exit lights can be slid onto their old bracket. Check that they are charging by looking at the light on the base of the sign.
