Balgowlah Shopping Centre is a bustling retail hub that welcomes thousands of visitors each day. Three years ago, the centre upgraded its lighting system with 526 Elumen Networking light fittings to enhance energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure a consistently bright shopping environment.

After evaluating various options, the centre management selected Elumen's advanced Networking lights. Our Networking battens, exit lights and emergency luminaires offer rapid on-site compliance. These fittings also enable remote monitoring of sensors and adjustment of hold-time and brightness levels off-site. This intelligent system minimises time spent carrying out onsite inspections, reducing disruptions to daily operations while optimising energy usage. Our Australian designed wireless system is able to consistently connect lights from underground parking through the shopping centre. The results from 6 monthly and annual tests are conveniently available from the Plexus Console with a full floor plan and online maintenance reports.

Having seen the success of the Balgowlah Stockland fit-out, the adjacent residential village is now in the process of upgrading their emergency lights to Elumen Networking as their legacy system fails. A piece by piece approach provides a cost-effective solution to upgrade their 311 fittings to a new system. As the final emergency light joins the new Networking system, residents will benefit from less disruption as drop tests will be scheduled during the early morning.

Since installation, the system has recorded only one lighting failure across all 526 fittings—a remarkable reliability rate that underscores the efficiency of the solution. The remote monitoring capabilities have streamlined maintenance processes and lowered overall operational costs, proving that Elumen Networking lights are an effective and sustainable choice for high-traffic retail environments.
